This impressive basket is a classic example of Yavapai weaving. Seven horizontal bands of positive/negative triangles show alternating human and dog figures. The humans are done in willow against a black devil’s claw field with willow coyote tracks in the upper corners and the dogs are woven in devil’s claw against a willow triangular field.
