Light flowing in from an unseen window focuses the viewer’s attention on the carvings behind the altar and the figures just in front of them. Robert Kuester’s use of color and shadow also enhance the overall presentation.

A native of Iowa, Kuester spent two years at Drake University, and went on to obtain a BFA from the Art Center College of Design in California. Living in New Mexico since 1986, Robert paints still life and interior images, figural works, landscapes, and enjoys a very distinguished career as a commissioned portrait painter. He has painted portraits of many television starts including Matthew Broderick, Shelly DuVall and Milburn Stone who played Doc on Gunsmoke.
