Dan Bates

A third generation Tucsonan, Dan Bates spent much of his early childhood on his grandparent’s “El Coronado Ranch” in the Chiracahua Mountains of Southeastern Arizona. His involvement in art has been since childhood and his passion for the American West is deep.

Bates is a traditional sculptor of ‘lost wax’ bronzes with a Western theme. Renowned for his accurate, equestrian sculptures, Dan’s work captures the working cowboy, the United States Cavalry, and desert wildlife in all scales – from affordable to monumental. Most of his works come from the time when the West was young and all are historically correct – a hallmark of Bates’ work.
