How Eddie Basha Helped Build A Vibrant Western Art Scene In Arizona

The first Bashas’ contemporary grocery store format opened in Chandler, AZ, in 1932. In what formerly was a warehouse at that location, The Eddie Basha Collection of Western American & American Indian Art can now be found. Eddie began collecting during the 1970’s and throughout his lifetime he pursued that passion vigorously. The collection contains over 3,000 masterworks including paintings and drawings, bronzes, sculptures and woodcarvings, baskets, pottery and jewelry.

Eddie’s oldest son and Bashas’ President/CEO, Trey Basha, recently spoke with Steve Goldstein from Phoenix public radio station KJZZ about his father’s art collection. To listen to the full interview, click here.
